Since Cards Against Humanity is now sold in Target, they periodically call us up to offer "seasonal promotional opportunities."
We usually say no to these opportunities because we don't have any funny ideas. But this year, Target made us an offer we couldn't refuse: Father's Day Sale. Dads are one of the funniest parents you can have. We just can’t stop writing about them:
After we agreed, Target threw us a curveball — our Father’s Day Sale had to be in the DVD section, which is where fathers shop. We immediately knew what we had to do: create awesome fake dad movies from the 90s.
We started by making this 90s action movie name generator, which randomly combines words we put into a spreadsheet.
We picked our favorite titles and reached out to
Jordan Duvall — a designer who actually made posters for action movies in the 90s — and hired her to create plausible DVD art from stock photos.
So, if you go to Target between now and Father’s Day, you'll find our nine fake dad movies sandwiched between real dad movies
Dunkirk and
Jurassic World. Inside each DVD case is the brand new
Cards Against Humanity Dad Pack with 30 new cards about fatherhood.
You can also buy the Dad Pack right here, packaged inside your favorite fake dad movie DVD case. Please note that these are all the same pack and there are no actual DVDs because these movies don’t exist. Just pick the cover your dad would like the most.
If you think your dad would enjoy other Cards Against Humanity garbage,
head over to the webstore. We'll keep the Dad Pack in your cart.
I love you, Dad.
